Safety on social media networking

Hallo everyone, It has been a long time, I know I have been scarce lately but I was still working on my blogging skills and I know you could not wait for this one. I hope you will enjoy my second blog. Social networking websites like Facebook, twitter and LinkedIn are services that people can use to connect with others to share information. It is very important to use these sites wisely as much as your safety is the top priority.as the popularity of these sites grows , so o the risks of using them.

Well you need not to worry because I am here to give you important tips on what to say and not on you social media profiles.

1.    Choose the right platform

There are hundreds of platforms, which means there are many options beyond your usual ones. Take time to see which platforms are best for you. I recommend that you choose LinkedIn because it is very different from Facebook and twitter. It is a professional network where you present yourself and your company.it is therefore great for growing a professional community and seeking out new employment. Having a LinkedIn profile increases your chances of being found by other users. Your profile headline should say something about what you have to offer to employees.

2.    Beware of what you post

Did you know that one day when you are looking for a job your perspective employer will ant o know your true identity more than you’ve descried yourself to them? It is important then to conduct yourself in a respectful manner on social networks. You might never know when it’s time for you to get employed .some of the companies conduct a search of social networks to learn more about you. imagine a prp with tattoos al over the body, you guys must be representable. Avoid posting those naked photos, dancing around or drunk .be cautious about anything you publicly make available because you might miss out on a wonderful job opportunity. Assume that everything you put on social networking site is permanent, by that way you will not post nasty things. Keep your privacy a top priority.

3.    Build a relationship

Engage with your audience, get them involved and always reply to outreach. Remember that social media is a two way street. Participate in groups with other users, by that way you can be able to be notified when there is an employment opportunity. It is very crucial for you public relations student to start familiarizing yourselves with groups. Make sure people find something out of being your fan or liking your page. Team work is all it takes for a successful practitioner.

4.    Be the brand manager of yourself

Individuals also have to worry about personal branding like companies do, especially the ones who are looking for jobs opportunities. Having an incomplete profile on LinkedIn can minimize your chances of being employed or being noticed by employees. LinkedIn tells you when your profile is 100% complete or not, it will also let you know what you need to add in order to make it complete. Include your wok experiences and a professional photo on your profile. Remember you are branding yourself here. Never show signs of hatred against any organization because you never know where you could be hired. Do not spread tales about someone you hate like for instance your lectures or classmates because employees don’t want to employ someone who is heartless. If you can talk badly about your lectures and fellow classmates, so can you about your company and your colleagues. You do not want to create that impression about yourself. Show kindness in your posts and never retweet something you don’t know full details of, or that does not concern you because that can put you at risk. Just conduct yourself in a respectable manner. There are people out there who still the identities of others just to tarnish’ their reputation, so be aware of identity thieves’ .as public relations students and future professionals you don’t want such things to happen and only find out about them when you get employed. Sometimes you find that you are invited by people you don’t know and when you do accept them, they never bother chat to you because they got what they wanted.
